New Black Diamond Speed Daisy

Black Diamond is coming out with new aid gear this year. I just noticed the new Speed Daisy on the website. According to the description it is fully adjustable under body weight, it seems to have a mechanical lock of some kind inside and a button on top to release it.

,

At $50 that makes it the same price as the Petzl connect adjust with much more aid climbing versatility and a much cheaper alternative to the Alfifi. I am really curious to see how this thing functions and how well it works overall, I was considering getting either an adjust or alfifi for aiding and this might be a better option consider price.

There are also two new aid ladders, a normal one and a pocket sized ultralight one which Weigh My Rack did a video on 2 months ago. The rep in the video said they would come out in March but they are not currently available on the website.

So has anyone tried this yet? Is it good for aid? Good for rappelling? I keep getting ads for it but there's no reviews or videos of it in use online from what I can tell.

I didn’t realize this thing had ever come out! Shortly after I made this original post they took all mention of it off the website. I always thought it was a cool design, good to see it made it to market.

Editing this to add:

Looks like they have another version with an integrated steel fifi hook, but they are currently not available: https://www.blackdiamondequipment.com/en_US/product/speedfi/

It releases very slowly when using one thumb to push the release button, a little quicker with two, when fully suspended.  The rope has flatten some, with it creating slack in the cover in front of the device when lengthening.  It is easy to regulate the speed when lengthening under partial load.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
