“First Steps” - New section of Alpinesavvy for beginner climbers

While the majority of posts on my website are geared for more intermediate and advanced levels, there are many articles that can be helpful for newer folks.

To make it easier to find these, I made a new section of my website with articles useful for people starting on the climbing path. (These are not new articles written from scratch, but a curated collection of those I've already written.)

There are about 40 articles in this new section.

A few of the topics:

and lots more!.

If you want to start breaking in to alpine objectives start learning and leading trad multi pitch. That’s literally the only barrier to entry other than being really fit, you’ll find in alpine climbing that the approaches are fucking massive, be ready. You can also go somewhere like red rock where you get all the fun of being in the alpine while being relatively close to civilization. https://xender.vip/

I would recommend a much larger set of skills including self rescue and first aid first and foremost.

I have subscribed to John’s articles. Very much worth it in my opinion. Lots of good stuff, techniques, hacks, and tricks. Highly recommended (by me).
