Wondering if anybody has been out there lately (written 9/8/24)? I get the road closure updates from AZDOT. Looking for info on the parking areas, changes to approaches, climbing closures, etc. The weather will soon cool enough to get back out there. Need to take a recon drive to check it out.

I was out there yesterday, nothing has changed from the beginning of the year.

Does that go for both Atlantis and The Pond?

Yep. The only thing that’s different is 60 E is one lane instead of two before the tunnel.

Im trying to plan a climbing trip to central/south arizona this coming february and these crags seem the highest quality in terms of what we are looking for. I am worried about commiting to lodging reservations near superior if it's likely atlantis/the pond will be inaccessible then. I'm coming from the midwest and was wondering what locals' opinions are on their expectation for potential climbing access here in a few months.

It looks like the parking area for the Pond is now a heavy equipment staging area and was closed off when I drove by (on my way to Magma Gardens) the weekend before last. There is a pull out on the north side of US60 a couple hundred yards east of the waterfall. Not being used or fenced. I will park there.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
