Bright sockeyes! Many people say those Copper River sockeyes are the best tasting of them all. Looks like the sockeye runs in Alaska are huge this year, unlike the chinook. According to the ADFG website, on July 17, their fish counting weir recorded 191,000 returning sockeyes that swam from the ocean up into the lower Kenai River in a single day! |

Had an amazing weekend above 11k ft in Colorado. My gf also caught her first trout of similar size on this trip, casting my 4wt. Oh yeah we did some climbing too |

Fished the Dana Fork of the Tuolumne on my way back from Hot Creek. I caught my first ever brook trout, and managed to catch a rainbow and a brown as well (a grand slam I believe?). All on dries, all Tenkara too! It was super fun, all of the fish were in about 1' of water or less. I didn't have that much time out there but, I wish I could have kept fishing. |

Wow Bob...sign me up! |

Bob strikes again. Beautiful fish. Lucky with the weather is always a bonus too in Alaska. |

Thanks Norm. I don't mind fishing in the rain, but fishing when it's not raining is a real treat in Alaska. |

Looks like kenai? |

Bob Gaines wrote: Nice. Ya know the mass reports this year we’re pretty consistently doom and gloom across all salmonoids, minus humpys, but we still pulled good consistent numbers. Looks like you found similar results. 20 times, wow, that’s awesome. Do you explore much on those trips or mostly local to the peninsula? |
