Tape on your crack gloves?
|
Has anyone ever added tape to their crack gloves? I want to in order to get some more padding over a specific bone, but wouldnt it also potentially keep the wear down on the gloves? I am not seeing any downsides to this, but I don't see anyone else doing it, so I'm guessing I'm overlooking something potentially obvious. |

Your finger loops will wear long before the rest of the glove. Tape will get dirty, peel, leave sticky residue, etc. If you want to protect a specific bone why not tape that part of your hand and put the glove over? |

Nothing wrong with it, do whatever you want. There's nothing you're going to do with tape that's going to harm your crack gloves or make them less crack glovey I use tape to protect the wrist strap and also to beef up the stitching on the thump loop on my bdel crack gloves. I also use tape beneath the glove to protect my wrist from the wrist strap rubbing as well. Climb On wrote: I have not found that to be the case. Dirty? Yes, but who cares? Will the gym crew not invite you out for mimosas if your gloves are dirty? Peel and leave a sticky residue? Maybe, if one's taping skills are similar to that of a kindergartener's. |

I like taping on my skin under the glove to protect my weak spots. Don't need that much this way and glove also keeps the tape from moving around too much. |

I've used it to repair broken wrist and finger straps. Tape won't grip as well as rubber, but you could use it on your hand or the inside. |

I do this all the time. Can't think of any reason you shouldn't, other than its simply another step to do that many people probably just don't bother |

I tape the entire outer surfaces of the gloves so that nobody knows I'm aiding. |

I had an extra layer of tape applied to a few spots on the underside of a pair of OR gloves. Those are pretty thin. I've not needed it so far with the BD gloves. |
