It’s mostly a day-by-day account of Osman’s life and the author’s ruminations on fear and risk. It has a fair bit of “climbing 101” for non-climbers if that bugs you, but overall I really like it.

I remember seeing this image before I'd ever climbed in the Needles (let alone CA even) and having my mind blown. What struck me wasn't the terrain that remained, but thinking about what he must have climbed through to get to this spot.
