My partner and I are planning on heading to Sedona this weekend. With the rain forecast we are looking for alternatives to sandstone. Would love to clip some bolts on limestone. We climbed at the pit in flag and loved it! We're coming from SoCal so we'll be heading to the phoenix area then north. Any recommendations in greater PHX area or anywhere semi-close (few hours) from sedona, flag, would be appreciated!
If you’re planning on being up north near Flagstaff, check out Jack’s Canyon near Winslow. Shorter climbs, but good for high volume days.
Southern/Central AZ have some incredible limestone. I would highly recommend The Homestead, however it is in the opposite direction of your itinerary plan and requires 4x4 to get there.
If your willing to commit to SoAZ, the Farmhouse has great climbing (mostly in the shade) at all grade limits. The Dry Canyon is also phenomenal, but tends to be cater to the 5.11 and up crowd.

Thank you Will. This has been very helpful. With the most current weather reports we're going to stay outside of phoenix and hit up the homestead / totem pole until the sandstone in Sedona dries out.
Looks like there might be rain forecast all over AZ this week. Be mindful to skip Tufa City at the Homestead if there’s recent rain. The thin tufas become weak after a soak. Have a blast while you’re here!
