Josh Garrison wrote: Thanks for your reply. That's great, as I live about a minute away. Construction hasn't started yet, has it? There's a large, windowless building currently going up across from FW Webb. |

That's a Dartmouth College building, book storage in believe. |

My 12 year old is way into climbing. Are you planning to offer any kids’ programs - classes, club or team climbing at the gym? |

Zoe R wrote: Yes, the plan is to have lots of kids programming. The idea is to have a wide arrange of classes, with both recreational and competitive climbing teams for all ages. Certainly camps in the summer with kids programming during school breaks and such! |

Hi, Any updates on timing? Thanks. |
|
Hey! Any big updates on this or an expected opening date? |

William Chung wrote: We will be putting the project back out to bid in the coming weeks. Once we hear back from these sub contractors we should have a better idea of a breaking ground date. We will be co-hosting Reel Rock again with Dartmouth Outing Club in April and will give an update then. Making predictions in this economic environment is challenging to say the least and we would have loved the gym to be open by now, but these types of ground-up-builds take time. |

I'd love to subscribe to the newsletter if possible. Thanks~! |

For those of us who couldn't make it to Reel Rock last Friday, will you be putting out another newsletter with the update you gave? Thanks! |

Owen Wilkins wrote: This has been mentioned before. The location of this building was extremely inconvenient for pretty much everyone. The proposed new site will be right in the thick of the upper valley business area, local high schools, Dartmouth, etc, so I'm sure will see significantly more traffic. Hell its a good 25 minutes closer to Rumney. |

Zach Liebold wrote: only trying to be helpful.. Location wasn't ideal, but I think 'extremely inconvenient' is a bit dramatic, and if its the difference between a climbing gym and no climbing gym.. |

Could I be added to the newsletter? |

The old gym in Hartland is also very old construction and wall design, has a tiny boulder cave that has flooding issues (and was closed more often than it was open whenever I went there), and is just small. Maybe it would be better than investing in building a new gym in the same spot, but as is I think building a new one in Hanover is a much better investment. |
