This ultra-classic is typically climbed over two days but has seen a recent car-to-car blitz in a blistering sub-6 hours, unseating the previous record from a well-known PNW alpinist.

Edit: Correct Saign! In 2018, Scott Bennett (solo) went C2C in 5'57" from Esmerelda Trailhead, bettering Colin Haley and Andy Wyatt's time of 6'45" a few years earlier.

Woah, that’s really fast!

Todd Skinner thought climbing this rock might take him higher.

Bingo. I agree that Idaho is part of the NW. It's included in the forum description

Though you're correct that Idaho often is in discussions of the NW elsewhere, I think Dan's point referred to the categories as defined for the Mt. Proj. forums. From the general forum page:

For some of the routes in earlier pages here, Idaho routes have appeared, which is fine, though newcomers might not consider Idaho based on the above.

Dammit! You got me. Guess I broke the rules.

Has it always been like that? I thought it used to be included?

Idaho is hard to place I feel the panhandle is mostly Washington, Boise is the capitol of eastern Oregon and southern and eastern Idaho is mostly Utah. However Idaho is a sub topic in cascade climbers.

Edit: The first ascent of this route involved the leader wedgeing themselves into a chimney while they drilled in anchors, while the follower ascended the “fixed line”.
A few bolts replaced the 2x4 that now hangs on a small tree at the start of the route.

This thread is like the internet version of leaves changing. It's a sure fire indicator that climbing season is over and internet debating season is on.

Not in Beacon. The type of bird is somewhat relevant too, if you consider the whole climb
