Vantage/Frenchman Coulee Weather Question

Heya,

Hoping to head to Vantage tomorrow. There's supposed to be 1/3" of rain overnight. I'm guessing that's not enough to wet the area out, but just curious if anyone has thoughts on the weather out there. Really want to get out and climb, but it's already forecast to be cold and windy, add on rain and I'm a bit concerned it may be a wasted trip... anyone with more experience in the area?

Thanks for any info!

Greg

The rock dries fast, but it'll be muddy and the wind will be miseralble

Wind is what I’m looking at for the next few days.  The rain usually dries quick if it’s overnight.

Thanks for the comments. I was out there today. It was terrible! No one should go! Just kidding - it was actually beautiful. Sunshine Wall was warm and sunny - though if you went too far West on it the wind was really bad in the afternoon (felt like I would get blown off an arete). The Eastern section was great, and all the rock was dry.

What's vantage? are you talking about the climbing area known as Exit 143?

Yes, Vantage is off of i-90 at exit 143, although I've never heard anyone refer to it as Exit 143. I think most people call it either Vantage or Frenchman Coulee.
