My company has a lot of these carabiners that they have no use for, they have given me a dozen or so.  It can be found at

Interestingly, the website describes it as a triple action carabiner but it is only a double action. Twist and pull.

Anyhow, is there any safety concern using this type of carabiner for climbing? I don’t see any issues using it for securing a haul bag and other similar uses but I would be interested to learn if anyone be had insight into potential concerns.

Thanks in advance

$90 for an aluminum locker!!  Makes you wonder what the ANSI rating process costs…

It looks like it’s rated for 23kN when correctly loaded, and certified by a reputable standards org.  I’d have no qualms using it (but also have no particular expertise.)

That certainly looks like a triple lock to me (pull, twist, open)

I don't understand how or why they're making steel carabiners rated lower than 20kn, but your aluminum ones look totally normal. I'd use them for anything I'd use a screwgate locker for. A lot of my friends like them for belay devices or tethers, no need to double check that it's locked.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
