Didn't realize I could be as crusty about cycling as I am about climbing, but here I am. Edit: Not mine but another one to fan the flames. This just added insult to injury and wasn't necessary. This started with an idea of instant gratification vs. the satisfaction of working hard towards something but was poorly executed, sorry everyone! Ebikes are definitely useful beyond allowing people to complete objectives while avoiding the foundational training/effort, including making the outdoors a bit more accessible to those who otherwise couldn't and other valuable applications like commuting. 2nd edit: Alright, my mind is partially changed. Commuting via ebike is cool by me. Bike expedition by ebike (which inspired this post) is still not.

Sorry for non meme post but this is something I am passionate about, and I want to get ahead of the person who says "but it's not free of carbon emissions, you're just burning fossil fuels somewhere else" True, if you are charging it from the grid almost anywhere. But 1) you could charge an e bike from a pretty small solar rig and 2) the more electric forms of transportation we use, the more painless the transition to green energy

I'm also a fan of ebikes and agree they are a great option for alternative transportation. Fun too!
