Anyone try the Arcteryx C-Quence harness yet?

Just jumping back in the thread to comment that I got my c-quence and am pretty happy with it overall.  The new gear loops are a nice and unexpected improvement (they were already good)and it is more comfortable/less bulky than my old arc.  The leg loops are better designed and overall I am more likely to forget I am wearing it when not loaded with trad gear.   My only criticism is that I wish they had improved the auto backing buckle to lock down a little tighter to keep the belt from slipping a little over time.

Out of the at least 50 harnesses I've either owned, demoed, and/or worn completely through, this is the most comfortable. Hanging on projects, hanging belays, belaying heavier climbers, etc. I'm heavier-about 180lbs racked up. The sizing is odd, though. I usually just sneak in to a medium in every other brand, but a medium in this harness was massive. I fit perfectly into a small. Highly recommended, if you can find one.

Now that I’m seeing a new color of the 395-A on the website as well as the C-Quence, anyone have experience with the ice clipper slots on both? Same position or different?

Damn, that new AR-395A color way looks horrible.

More like the bd solution. But with durable material and gear loops twice the size. It's comfy and has a nice relaxed fit, easy to move around in, doesn't have that dorky looking "ow my balls" factor that is so common in other harnesses, ha. You forget it's there. Would recommend.

Realize this is an older post but i've been looking for a harness thats a bit more comfortable than my current one and this one has came up. Could you elaborate on the "ow my balls" factor that the C-Quence doesn't have? I'm assuming you're talking about how a lot of harness pinch up super high on your thighs/groin area when hanging? This is what i'm hoping to avoid on my next harness.

In comparison with the R300 and FL365:

Size is larger (I switched from a M to an S).

Leg loops are larger, proportionally, in comparison to waist size. This is good for me but might not suit stick insects.

I thought the gear loops might not be as good as the 300/365 but in practice there is no significant difference.

Recommended, though not at list price.

Other harnesses like the MM Cadillac or the petzl Adjama would randomly often pinch the balls. That was one of the main deciding factors when selling both of those harnesses and buying the c-quince.

Thinking about it…  I realize it is totally possible it’s just me and the way I tend to wear harnesses or my underwear choice combination but anyway I have owned/hung in all 3 and that was my experience.

if my balls were not pinched, all the harnesses felt good hanging but the C-quence had noticeable difference being more comfortable when standing and climbing.

Labor Day is coming up! Wait till they go on sale for 25% off or you get a 20% off full price item for REI. I waited for that to make the purchase for me last year.

Did anyone else feel like with the sizing issue (which seems to be a trend of people normally fitting into mediums having to downsize to a small) that the rise of the harness is a bit short, and that when walking about the belay loop is stretched/pulled between the upper and lower hard points more than other harnesses?

I typically barely squeeze into medium harnesses with most manufacturers and I own (and love) a small C-quence. My only gripe is that the gear loops are a bit too far back. Maybe even a centimeter or two forward would do the trick. Ive never had a harness this light and simultaneously comfortable to hang, belay, and fall in, and Im 185 pounds. I haven't experienced the low rise that you speak of, or the crushed twig and berries that others complain about. Im currently seeking another one so that if/when they stop making them, I'll have a back up, when mine needs to be retired. The Konseal looks horrible, with traditional harness padding. Hopefully that's not the direction they're heading for their other harnesses.

What size waist are you? I'm typically a 30-31 in most pants. I really like the harness setup, I'm just worried the gear loops will be further back then I want them to be. I've been climbing with a camp cr4 harness that has the loops pretty far forward and I've come to really like that setup. Recently got a sitta, and I think I'm gonna sell it since I have to turn way too much just look at what I've got on the main loops.

Picked up the new https://arcteryx.com/us/en/shop/mens/konseal-harness recently, love it! Most other harnesses with leg loops don't seem to adjust tight enough for me, hurting my self-esteem about how big I thought my thighs were hah

So far feels supportive enough, padding-wise, for me.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
