The cuddling is an alpine strategy, sure, but they are shirtless, hence bouldering.

It is 2021, can y'all hurry up and outgrow your homophobia?

Huh. I didn't read that meme as homophobic. I thought it was just poking fun at the crews of shirtless bouldering bros, but maybe that was naive.

it's not poking fun at gay, it's poking fun at polygamy.

I think the real joke is the watch. Never mind about wearing a watch while climbing and jamming. The joke is that boulder bros are the kinds of people that would want to time themselves in bed.

I read it as “bouldering is gay LOL” kind of joke - thought it was in poor taste IMO. Probably acceptable in the 90s or early 21st century, but generally not anymore.

They also missed out on poking fun at the apparent homoerotic nature of alpine shiver bivies

as a gay person i didn’t even read it as that and i thought it was funny bc boulderers no wear shirt haha

In response to nat vorel - you ain’t the only LGBT person on this forum, my man. I’m glad you don’t think it’s in bad taste, specifically, but there are others who do think that it is. Y’all should cry less about it when this is pointed out to you...

That's a bit of a no true scotsman, innit.

Well if it’s was a “bouldering is gay” joke I rescind my support. I’m bouldering right now, and I have nothing but love for my lgbtq+ people.
