Other climbing pants with waist like this?
|
I was wondering if anyone could recommend any other pants they know of that have an adjustable waist cinch just like on the PrAna stretch Zion pants. So far have been unable to find other pants that have that type of adjustable waist, so if anyone else has, please let me know. Thanks for your time! |

The adjustable waist on my Zion’s always loosens. I really think outdoor gearlab got it wrong with the Zion’s as editors choice for numerous reasons... Try Arc’teryx Gamma LT. They have better belts, are lighter, and slimmer fitting. Got mine for $80 shipped brand new from eBay a couple years ago and they are still going strong. |

Agree with Buck Rio that the Patagonia closure system on Venga, RPS, and other pants works extremely well, in my experience. They have a range of materials from light/breathable/fragile to burly. |

Wrangler makes a decent pair of outdoor pants with an adjustable belt. They run at about half the cost of a pair of Pranas, but are of somewhat lower quality. |

Most E9 pants have an elastic waistband and an inside drawstring cinch. I swapped from my failing Pranas to them and never looked back. |

topo designs pants have them. |

I mean, I can't imagine buying any clothing when it's not on sale because it seems like it's always on sale, but my advice to people with this problem (myself included) is just wear overalls or coveralls. pants never slip down, double knee means they don't wear out like climbing pants. Plenty of zipper pockets. |

I've been using a chalk bag strap as a belt for awhile now. It's just as low profile. |

Michael Martzahn wrote: There’s a sizing chart on their US website. I’m a 29-30 waist and I only order small. Their Rondo line comes with the drawstring along with some others. They’re an Italian company so they aren’t easily found in stores, but I order from Bananafingers, EpicTv, and sometimes BackCountry since they normally have them on sale. |

Outdoor Research has added internal drawstrings to several models, including the Ferrosi (for which I am quite thankful). |

Black Diamond Notion pants have elastic and tie waist. They also have double layered knees. I have put mine through hell and not even one tear. They are expensive but well worth it! |

arcteryx makes lots of pants with those integrated buckles. the material is stretchy, too. i have some sigma fl softshell pants i found on closeout that are great. and they don't loosen over the day like the prana buckle does. i double it back to help a bit. since their prices are insane tho, i will second the ferrosi pants which are great. internal drawstring and you can tighten the cuffs with elastic and throw a slip knot in to hold it. plus aac members get great deals on em. |
