Get with the times dude. Climbing is an urban hipster sport these days. Consequently climbers frequent restaurants, breweries (bars if there's nothing local), buy local memorabilia, etc. They're just like other tourists, except more often childless and young, i.e. $$$$. The days of the dirtbag eating cat food to get by are gone.

Not to mention, that If you take the shortest approach from the North (the front range), you don’t come even close to the town, which lies 10 miles South.

Source: Hunted those lands since I was kid and have friends that own Ranches north of town. Sounds like the situation in S AZ with the domes by Babo. Hunting that area is easier than trying to get access to climb or hike.

Here's the link to to the wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roy,_New_Mexico#Demographics It's 142 miles from Santa Fe and 60miles or so from the interstate. The town can't even support bar full time, in the past it has only been open during hunting season. Kevin DeWeese. completely diffrent situation than Joe valley. Sounds like Ten Sleep. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ten_Sleep,_Wyoming#Demographics They have a brewery and two bars. You say Roy has none? *lightbulb* *cash eyes*

Tensleep: on a major tourist corridor at the foot of the Bighorns, at a mostly summer destination crag. 2. Roy: middle off fucking nowhere windswept NM grassland. A winter bouldering area that attracts weekenders from to CO Front Range. Anyway, if someone is dying to open a brewery/bar/cafe in Roy, I wish them the very best of luck. However, I am skeptical about the viability of that business plan.
