Car Lo wrote: I know this is a forum post, and this isnt just to car lo but also the other guy he is telling off, but can we as a collective please agree to just hold off on the bullshit shenanigans of the internet for this post. I'm sure there will be a post in the future detailing what happened where we can all go ape shit over the nuances of helmets, knotting ends of rope, equalization, etc. For this post, would it be cool if we agree to just leave this as a condolences page for the public or civilized discussion on any new news on the subject? Climb on Brad. |

Apparently one end of the rope didn't have a knot during a simul-rappel, that's the last I heard of the incident |

I remember seeing this guy just quietly adding ticks to all these fantastic dream climbs here on mountain project until I started wondering “who the hell is this guy?!” |
|
Shining path indeed. a humble and inspiring man! His spirit is certainly one with the spirit of the mountain now. He will be missed even by those of us who never met him. His stoke for climbing was the real deal and his posts here always insightful and informative. To young brother. |

Hi everyone--sad news here. Brad was a friend and partner to all of us. This is what we have been able to learn thus far. |

Take it easy man... |

RIP to a real one. |

Climb on, Brad. You will be missed. |

Holy hell. Another good guy down too young. |
|
Never met Brad, but saw him in some videos. Impressive climber and he seemed to be a humble guy about his accomplishments. I liked that he didn't mind videos that showed him working out the moves like we all do at times. Seemed to be a very real person. I can understand the sadness expressed so many times over above. Condolences to everyone here that knew or had met him, and certainly to his family and loved ones as well. Prayers for the physical, mental and spiritual healing of his partner. |

I knew Brad, and I'm closer to this whole situation than you realize. My post was not to pass judgement to Brad and the other climber, but to remind people to knot their ropes. Seriously. Climbers perish this way far too often. Even veterans and the very experienced. I've read more of these stories than I can count, and it's sad every time. But even sadder when it hits close to home. Brad you were a super cool guy, humble, quirky, funny. Rest in peace brother |
