Best elbow braces for tennis elbow?
|
I have two bad elbows from jigging. Had a post on this before. Had cortisone shot in one. Seems to give it temporary relief, but what about the elbow braces/sleeves, what do you guys like best? |

PT is the only cure. |

If it's tendonosis try antagonist training. I had tendonosis problems for a long time that became really annoying after lots of laybacking or side pulls. After 2-4 weeks of antagonist training in the appropriate areas a few times a week it's completely gone, never to return. They only take 10 minutes a day to do... well worth it. |

braces are a placebo. |

Second the PT suggestion. Especially the Tyler Twist with Therabar to do eccentric contractions. Just got over several months of medial epicondylitis. Had some soft tissue manipulation and did exercises. Brace can help take a little tension off the insertion point of the tendon, but more for everyday tasks than working out or climbing. Stay positive: There are therapies that can help. Best wishes for recovery. |

For good elbow Braces try the bauerfiend brand, they are exspensive but they are the best I’ve found. Also if you dealt with this issues for a while I strongly recommend mentioning to your doctor nitroglycerin patches. I had tendonitis for years and this patch healed mine in three months. I swear this is not a gimmick. If you want details about it pm me. Good luck |

I've had good results from prolotherapy over the years when my "golf elbow" flares up. |

pt is best like others have said. wearing a brace while I sleep seems helpful - 6+ hours of good position and immobilization :) |

I tried the brace while sleep for keeping it immobile and found the lack of blood circulation to not help at all with healing time. Wrapping it loosely to keep it warm always works better. |

I had wicked bad tennis elbow. Bad enough that I couldn't pull a trigger on a cam or lift up a frying pan. Cortisone helped it out and then stretching, and some exercises have kept it manageable. But the orthopedic surgeon I went to prescribed me a brace that immobilizes my wrist actually , for sleeping and at work. Apparently exerting your forearm with your wrist bent forward Is bad. Seems to help. If nothing else, it serves as a reminder to use my other hand more often. |
