NorCal Guidebook
|
I'm looking for the "go to" guidebook for areas in northern California Mainly Tahoe area. Is there one single guidebook or will have to get several different ones? |

I'm not really a fan of "overview" or "state wide" guidebooks, but for a NorCal overview guidebook, the Slater/Summit NorCal Road Trip is pretty good (though a bit pricey) |

LOCALS GUIDE to "Rock Climbs of North Tahoe" is a comprehensive, full color, guidebook to all of the 1,300 rock climbing routes in the greater North Tahoe-Donner-Reno region. With over 700 routes not included in any of the other mentioned guidebooks. |

What are the latest and most thorough Tahoe area guides? |
|
A new North Tahoe guidebook came out last year, most climbing shops should have it in stock. As for South Lake, the older Supertopo guide still seems to be the most current thing out there. |

Interested in buying my NorCal road trip / Slater, Summit book for 22? |

CAMP 4 PRESS does not, unfornuately, have a guidebook out for South Tahoe, but the Supertopo guidebook will get you to a fair amount of the classics there. The old, black and white, Falcon guide is 20 years out of date but would get you by for both the South and North regions of the lake if you do not want to buy both of the newer guidebooks. MP and Supertopo for SLT, any of the 3 volumes of Tahoe Bouldering depending on what part of the lake you’re at, and the North Tahoe: A Rock Climber’s Guide for north lake and I80/Donner as well as Hwy 20 areas. |
