Looking for a Mentor to Climb with
|
I fell in love with climbing over the summer of 2017. A lot of the people I worked with were into climbing, and took me with them to various locations. I never climbed outdoors before and it was amazing. I am just looking to go with someone that has their systems down, and can help me learn how to climb outdoors. From New Hampshire and going to school in Rhode Island. |

What about the people you work with? Also, are you willing to pay for this service? Usually, no one is just going to take you out and mentor you unless you already have a relationship with them (i.e. co-worker, friend, significant other, etc.) or you are going to pay for it (hiring a guide). It doesn't hurt to ask, though. Good Luck! Josh |

Let's start by narrowing it down to one state as the northeast is a bit expansive for most mentors operating radius. |

If you are in Rhode Island for school, it is very easy to get outside on your own and boulder at Lincoln Woods. If you are friendly, you won't be alone there for long, as there are tons of friendly people there who boulder and who love to show new people around. Brian's climbri.com group is also very welcoming and many of those guys and gals take trips to CT, NY, MA, and NH to do roped climbing. Start small, be friendly, and things will work out the way you hope.... |

There's a facebook group for local RI climbers facebook.com/groups/2297088… Alternatively start climbing more at Rock Spot or Central Rock and meet up with people that way. Ditto what Joe said, Lincoln woods is another good option |

I am new to climbing as well. I can't be your mentor but I am from NH and always looking for climbing partners. Send me an email if you want to climb. |

Instead of simply getting hauled up a climb with the occasional word of encouragement, I felt like I was climbing with a good friend and learned a lot. Definitely worth connecting with them if you find yourself out that way and want to pick up some new skills or just have a blast in a beautiful spot. |
