Suggestions for Spearfish Canyon Guidebook and Camping?

As for the Camping, have found out no fires in the national forest... so looking for a car camping area that allows fires and has a view?  Too much to ask?  A girl can dream right!  Will be out there over Memorial Day weekend if anyone is interested in doing some climbing with us!

Good free camping off hanna road or something like that I forget how they spell it.

See link for hanna or Timon campgrounds.  Notice fees and dates.  None will have views but can have fires in designated pits.

Spearfish City Campground is pretty nice for a fully developed city campground. Definitely not "backcountry" but only seconds from the start of the canyon. Only minutes from some of the climbing. http://www.cityofspearfish.com/departments/city_campground/index.php

I have the 2011 SharpEnd guidebook "Spearfish Canyon, The VC & other Black Hills Limestone" by Mikel Cronin.  It seemed adequate when I was there in 2013.  Might have to supplement it with the MP app for the area now.

I will be in the Black Hills area around Memorial Day and might be interested in pulling on limestone by then.

Let me know if you want to climb!

We'll be at the Hanna camping area at the start of Memorial day weekend. I'm not sure how crowded it gets. There's also camping near Savoy.

Hey guys!  Thanks for all the suggestions.  For anyone interested in meeting up/camping together my number is 605 380 9238.  I'm going with some less experience climbers so will be putting up some easier routes mostly (I'm sure I''ll try to get in some tougher routes too!).  Have fun climbing!
