As my other post states, I am heading up to the Winslow wall this week. I will probably stop by Winslow on the way home for some dinner. I remember a guy at Jacks talking about this awesome little mexican food restaurant in Winslow. He said it is a TOTAL dive, but the food was excellent, the beer was cold and the owner was really cool. Does this ring a bell for anyone? Does anyone have any other suggestions where to get food in Winslow?

Winslow is so small you will not have trouble finding it. I remember we located it without even knowing the name or what street. Drive around and you will see a Mexican restaurant and that is IT. By the way, I don't think the food is amazing, but it's pretty decent.

For amazing food go the train station, it has a great restaurant. I like the wild game they serve. It is a historic place, built when the only thing there was the station.

I was thinking of somewhere cheap, but I will agree with the comments about the train station / La Posada. The actual restaurant there is called the Turquoise Room. The dishes and wine selection are absolutely amazing. The place is not inexpensive, but reasonable for what you get. If you have the money and need to eat in Winslow, it is without a doubt the best option by far. BTW, one of my buddies told me that the place I am thinking of is called the Casa Blanca Cafe. He concurs with Aerili that the food is not amazing but not bad at all, especially for the price.

Alfonso's by the freeway has a burrito the size of your forearm and its delicious and only 6 bucks including a drink. You have to ask for the Alfonso Burrito, though, it's not on the menu anymore.

By my reasoning, for a mexican joint to be 'good' it is required to have beer! Preferably Corona or Pacifico.
