Did ClimbX take over Mad Rock or something, cause their shoes look exactly the same. Someone help me out here!

I know somebody left MadRock and others within are now in charge. Not sure on the shoes though. Hopefully the good rubber is the same, and the sizing becomes more realistic to US sized feet.

So I realize I'm resurrecting a really old post, but I'm wondering if anyone knows what happened with the lawsuit between Climb X and Mad Rock.

I only just recently discovered Climb X, and I must say, it's tempting to be able to buy a $70 Mad Rock shoe from Climb X for $40. Does that make me a bad person? Haha...

*EDIT*
It just occurred to me that the lawsuit is less than a year old, so it's possible nothing has been decided yet. Still, if anyone has information or wants to share their opinions of Climb X vs Mad Rock, I'd be interested to hear what you have to say.

Yeah, I tend to agree. I don't personally wear Mad Rock, but I can always find cheap shoes elsewhere, if I look hard enough.

A couple of the main guys left Madrock and started ClimbX. Madrock got a new producer in China and ClimbX kept the original producer. The dispute is over the designs and who owns them because as you can see it's exactly the same shit. Or maybe it was that ClimbX emulated Madrock and tried to convince everyone that Madrock just changed their name, or a little of both.

I'm not positive on the exact details, just Google for some straight answers.

I think both companies make some good stuff, I use their carabiners and have had good luck with them, the shoes though not so much.
