Climbing Near Sherman, Texas

Right on Lake Texoma off of Hwy 75 just before Oklahoma. It's a crazy mix of Limestone and Sandstone. It's a tricky place because the rock breaks really easy so you really have to check your routes to be safe. Mostly a Bouldering area. They are developing and making a guide at the moment with 180 plus problems. The landings are very rocky and uneven suggest a large pad. Hwy 75 north to Denison TX, Exit for Lake Texoma Dam at exit 71. Go left, When you get to the dam turn right across the spillway and stay straight till you reach Esinhower State Park. 5 dollar entry and the rangers are cool with climbing as long as you have a crash pad!

This area is guarded by an excellent trading post which will sell you drinks or ice cream or whatever you want. You can find V-easy to V-hard here. With nice landings and a short approach, why not visit? If you can't be bothered to get a map from the wonderful staff here, stay left after the entrance. Follow signs for either Deer Haven or the Eisenhower Yacht Club. Once you have followed signs for the yach club, continue on the road until you end up at the tip of the peninsula, which will have painted parking spots. From there go left and scramble down into the shoreline which will contain your climbs and have fun!

The "Nice Boulder" is right next to the more popular CAB boulder. It has a few interesting problems on it. From the Pier, walk to the right, past the CAB boulder.
