The Carquinez Strait is a narrow waterway which empties the Sacramento and San Joaquin rivers into the San Francisco Bay. It's flanked by grass covered rolling hills that have the occasional sand stone boulder. The area is made up of a mixture of public land (East Bay Regional Park) and private land. The area can be accessed by Interstate 80, Interstate 680, and the John Muir Parkway.
Standard Berkeley rock type, some crystals reminiscent of Cragmont rock park. 2 medium sized boulders, both are significantly smaller that mortar rock. One was recently cleaned of brush presumably by the city of berkeley. Not many people ever show up here to climb. Go down or up Marin street to the Marin Circle, take the Arlington to Yosemite street, turn left, go a block down, and it is on the left. You can also go up Yosemite from the west.
Across from the benches in the park. Take Yosemite street.
