Featured Trad, Sport, Bouldering, and other popular climbing routes and climbing areas Ocala, Florida.
Very sunny in the morning and afternoon. Nice in the evening. Rock is brittle limestone but there are still good, small, crimpy holds to make this 18ft tall section somewhat technical and fun especially for new outdoor climbers. Trees at the top make for great top rope anchors. Probably short enough to boulder but we always top rope. Plenty of rock face to reimagine possible routes besides what I have laid out. Routes range from 5.5 to about 5.7 Park at the Santos Vortex area parking lot and hike (or bring your mountain bike, it is a mountain bike park after all) the short path west into the freeride area. Turn north and head down into the lowest part of the freeride area. There are 2 paths you could take north and both will end up in the lower section where the walls are.
18-20ft cliff above the swamp on the 'ant hill' area in the Santos bike park. From the vortex parking lot you can take the Cross Seminole Trail across SE 25th ave and head NE toward the Ant Hill area. You can use the mountain bike trail maps as reference for finding Ant Hill area.
Main section of the quarry with walls 1-6. There are still quite a few routes that have not been sent yet. Walk down from the parking lot into the vortext and walls will be on either side of you
