Featured Trad, Sport, Bouldering, and other popular climbing routes and climbing areas Logan, Utah.
The Wasatch range north of Salt Lake has excellent climbing in the Ogden and Logan areas, and some scruffy local crags. Please contact an admin if you would like to take over this placeholder description. The Wasatch north of Salt Lake.
One of the few crags in Logan canyon on the south side of the road facing north. Also one of the worst approaches. With crags like the Date Wall, KFP, and Fucodial where you can belay out of the back of your truck, this crag takes a bit more work to get to. High up on the south side of the road above 2nd dam. Park at upper 2nd dam, about 2 miles up canyon, in the somewhat hidden parking area by the big bridge. Cross the bridge, hike east up the nature trail not too far, then schwack through thick brush and trees south up to the crag, 3.5 tiers up the slope. A huge white discoloration in the rock that looks likes snow is a good starting landmark to spot, then gaze left(east) to the best looking rock up there.
Limestone and quartzite climbing. Predominately sport routes. The approaches can be as small or as large as you desire, and there are many avenues for exploration. Certain climbs (21) to date have been closed to protect an endangered species (Maguire Primrose). Logan is a cool canyon, therefore winter rock-climbing is all but impossible. Take US 89 up the canyon.
