Climbing Near Harrodsburg, Indiana

Unlikely Wall was created when IN-37 was built leaving behind a limestone wall above the highway. There are both bolted routes and boulder problems to be found here. Although the rock can be very chossy in spots there are good climbs to be found. Please be aware that there are some bolts that have been cut, usually the first bolt of the climb. A stick clip easily reaches the second bolt.**Please, don't light fires here. An old firepit has been found close to Tennyson, with a bunch of old cigarette butts in it. Please be mindful of the crag. Option 1: From Bloomington take HWY 37 South to Harrodsburgh Exit. Park under the overpass. Locate the trail leading to the roadcut on the West side of the overpass. Option 2: From Bloomington take HWY 37 South and about 1 mile before the Harrodsburgh Exit park on the pullout on the right or drive up the dirt track to the top of the hill.

Please be conscientious of climbing's effects on the building's structural and aesthetic integrity. Likewise, take care to be respectful to the inhabitants of each building! Climbing on the IU campus may make you popular with the campus security, and will likely cause many exclamations of delight. Routes in the "unsorted" category are routes in Bloomington that aren't located on campus. Simply walk around Indiana's beautiful campus and explore areas that look climbable! Indiana University can be found off of State Road 37 in Bloomington, IN. The University's boundaries are between 3rd and 10th st, Indiana st and Jefferson st.

This wooded hidden gem offers a decent selection of boulders with surprisingly good rock quality! This crag is rather spread out across both sides of the Mitchell Creek. Comprised of powerhouse boulders north and south. PLEASE NOTE this land is used primarily for hunting, so wear bright colors. There are two main parking locations, both being small gravel pullouts on the side of Mitchells creek road to the south and kemp road to the west. From Mitchell Creek Road hike south towards the powerline clearing, from here either continue south across the creek and onto the ridge to access powerhouse boulders south or stay on the north side and go the the opposing ridge for powerhouse boulders north. From Kemp road head along Mitchell Creek for a ways until you reach rock outcroppings on the north side of the river, this is powerhouse boulders north. Cross the creek and you are at the south portion of the crag.
