Featured Trad, Sport, Bouldering, and other popular climbing routes and climbing areas Boulder, Wyoming.
A great very secluded spot for summer bouldering and sport climbing. I have been here close to a dozen times and never seen another person. There are some great boulders and also a few sport routes which I have never done. All over looking the wind river range. This is a harsh environment and the wind will blow, winter is extremely cold and summer can be hot. However, choose the right day and you can have perfect temps here where other places are just too hot. From Hwy 191 heading south out of Pinedale, WY for about 12 miles and you will come into Boulder WY. Turn east in Boulder WY on hwy 353, this is a very small town and you make the left just past the only gas station in town. Stay on hwy 353 for about 4 miles and turn left,(north), on boulder lake road. Follow boulder lake road for about 3 miles and you will see the formation on your right once you top the hill. See included picture. Once you have topped the hill you will take a right on the first dirt road that looks like it heads directly towards the rocks. As you approach you will notice the "Drule Cup of the Gods" boulder since it is very easy to recognize.
A wonderful boulder that the approach road dead ends at. There is several good problems, a V1,V2 and V4 that I can't even get off the ground on. Again I have worked these problems on several different occasions and never seen another soul in sight. Enjoy! Follow the directions to Stonehenge and stay straight on the approach road and it dead ends at this boulder.
This is an area that is simply titled "worth checking out' in the guide book "Jackson Hole and Pinedale Wyoming". by Wesley Gooch. It is a small boulder formation with a chimney splitting it, and on the south side, there is a dike starting a few feet high and going up and left the the top of the granite boulder. This boulder is about 100 yards south of the Split Personality boulder, or Crack Attack, or whatever other names it has. Can't miss it, chimney in the middle of it.
