Description
Easily some of the best bouldering in highest concentration in West VA. Boulders only climbable when Summersville Lake is drained(October-March). This area gets lots of sunlight and is a destination winter climbing spot.
Getting There
Park at the new lot for Summersville Lake Main climbing access and follow the trails until reaching the Colosseum. Once passing the first few routes at the Colosseum(Still Life/POD) look out on your left for a break in the large boulders which will lead you down onto the lake bed. Continue right through the talus on the lake bed until you begin seeing lots of boulders.
This area can also be appraoched by taking Pirate's Cove trail until reaching the lake bed, however; this approach takes much longer now thanks to the new Summersville Main Lot.
