Description
Aoba is a good choice for winter climbing. It is sunny although sometime it is windy and chilly. Perhaps it is not convenient if there is no car, and thus, less crowded on weekend. Sandstone like Red Rocks, so sometime the route grades change with broken pieces. The grading is in general softer than other crags. Routes have name tags in Japanese. Most routes require to mantle at the end, after the anchor clipping, which is often the crux.
