Description Suggest change

These cliffs are the first that are encountered on the hike into the drainage. Climbs have been established on both sides of the drainage with the majority on the northern cliff above the creek bed. Like its upstream neighbor, Shangri La, valley bottom provides a good kid-friendly base with shade throughout the day. Most of the better lines have a band of friable rock for the first two bolts, so a stick clip is highly recommended. Although the junky rock detracts from the overall quality of the routes, the bullet gray stone and engaging movement make these routes worthwhile. One other unique consideration for the craig is the seasonal stream at the base of the north wall. The belays for the routes down-canyon from Dichotomy are all in the creek bed. This stream is usually dry, but in the spring and wet periods the creek runs, making these routes inaccessible. Note this are is under active development and pretty fresh. a Stick clip is strongly recommended.

Getting There Suggest change

Approach as for any of the walls in the Pike Creek Drainage. After walking through the first narrows. once you reach the forested area (2 minutes from the road) you are there.
