Description Suggest change

Incredible destination one hour north of Bariloche. Hundreds of sport routes of all grade levels on amazing pocketed volcanic rock set in a mind blowing location with a river below. There is shade and sun depending on your choice. Only drawback is getting there and crossing the river to the main area. If you don't have a raft then bum a ride on one or climb in the Sin Cruzar sector. There exists a really good PDF guidebook that most locals have. Just ask around.

Good destination if it's rainy or cold in Bariloche. Valle Encantado is often sunny and warmer on those days.

No camping or fires allowed! You can camp just north or south of the parking area a few kilometers, look around for campgrounds.

Getting There Suggest change

Rent a car or join with some locals who are going. Drive towards Neuquen, when you get to the spot marked on the map you'll see a parking area next to the river with the formations on the other side. There is a red Gaucho Gil shrine across the street. The trail to Valle Sin Cruzar is there and you can climb on the road side. Otherwise blow up a raft and cross the river. Stash your raft in the bushes with all the others and follow the trails to crags.
