Description Suggest change

A small crag tucked away in the wildlands section of Gunpowder Falls State Park in Hereford. Hidden from most vantage points. Named after the Netlfix series because, well, it's strange. A root grows in mid-air. A squeeze chimney eats you for lunch. Sharp rock rips your clothing.

Primarily hard, awkward, overhanging top-roping. What fun.

The crag overlooks the Gunpowder River, downstream and around a bend from the Prettyboy dam. It faces southwest. The sound of whitewater adds a wild and remote feel to the area.

Getting There Suggest change

From Mt. Carmel Road in Hereford, enter the state park on Falls road off of Evna road. Park in the second parking area on your left at the top of a long hill that bottoms out at the Gunpowder.

Walk 500 feet downhill. Look for a No Parking sign on the left, facing downhill. Cut left (west) into the woods. Continue west for about 100 yards to the top of a knoll--the highest point around. Look for a ridge to the northwest that descends toward the river. Follow this for another 100 yards. Keep to the left (south) side of the ridge, which is more open with less underbrush than on the right. Stranger Things will be on your left. A cairn on the ridge marks where to move left.

This approach takes less than 15 minutes.
