Description
This is a relatively new sport climbing area on a large slab a short uphill walk just west of the Plan dei Fiaconni ski lift on the south side of the dam at the west end of Lago di Fedaia. It contains a lot of easy and moderate single pitch bolted slab routes where friction substitutes for more positive face holds.
Getting There
Drive to the top of the Passo Fedaia either from the west(Canazei) or east (Caprile) and proceed to the west end of Lago di Fedaia. Drive over the dam and park at one of several free parking areas.
From the bottom of the Plan dei Fiaconni ski lift follow the broad ski track uphill for a about 100 feet until a trail cuts right. Initially follow path 606 towards the Plan dei Fiaconni. A second trail sign indicates the path towards the Trincee Austriche Grande Guerra(Austrian trenches in WWI). After a short distance encounter another trail sign for path 618 towards Forcella Col de Bous with a second sign pointing to the Trincee Austriche Grande Guerra. After about 0.1 mile follow a sign which points south towards the Trincee Austriche Grande Guerrs Guerra and another sign pointing towards the Cucina Militare(Military Kitchens). Take the path toward the Cucina Militare. Walk about 100 feet and just before encountering the kitchens take a faint climber's trail which heads up and west. The grassy section should show signs of passage. There are a few scrambling sections which have cairns. The total approach time from the ski lift is about 20-25 minutes and deposits you at Section C.
