Description Suggest change

On the south face of Hawksbill Mountain you'll find a pretty significant rocky drainage type area that rises almost 1000 vertical feet from the treeline below. Although chossy looking and unassuming at a first glance, adventurers will find opportunities for easier 5th class alpine-style adventure climbing. Any history on this area would be appreciated, but little seems to be known about the climbing history of this spot even though it is such a prominent feature on the more well-traveled east side of the Linville Gorge.

Getting There Suggest change

Approach either from the summit of Hawksbill or decipher the Hawksbill Ledge trail from below.
