Description
A small desert cove on the Colorado River just south of Nelson's Landing with cliff jumping and handful of DWS opportunities but definitely better for cliff jumping than DWS. The rock is coarse soft sandstone which sometimes breaks easily and in the summer the water is always a pleasant temp. Usually the best spot for soloing is a 20-30' slightly overhanging cliff at the mouth of the cove on the south side with more opportunities along the waterline past this. Everyone already knows this but as a reminder always check for underwater ledges and boulders, even if you were recently there. The water level fluctuates quite bit and can change whats doable with regards to safety.
This is also a very popular camping, partying, and boater access spot which can get crowded and trashed. Several times I've shown up and been deterred from swimming in the cove from all of the floating garbage and scum. The water outside of the cove is usually free of crap.
