Description
The farthest climbing area from Aspen itself warrants a visit for those seeking seclusion from the noises of civilization. The rock is a granitic type reaching up to 100 feet+, so a 70m rope is an excellent idea.
Getting There
Drive to Woody Creek, and take Woody Creek Rd. to its end where it crosses the creek on an obvious bridge. The Woody Creek Trail starts here too. For the climbs, cross the bridge and find a trail on the right that parallels the creek to the screefield. Scramble up the rocks until you find the climb you want. Be careful, as many blocks are wobbly and may move. If you adventure to the southern cliffs, follow the Woody Creek trail to the screefield, and scramble up to the cliff.
