Val Rosandra - Dolina Glinščice Rock Climbing

Val Rosandra is located about 10 km outside the city of Triest and is a protected wilderness area. A couple houndred routes of all difficulty levels can be found on the limestone cliffs.
Various routes of different styles from overhangs on sintar pillars to technical slabs and vertical climbs on good holds exist in the valley. Due to Val Rosandras long history in climbing the distance between bolts can be further on certain routes. During rebolting only old pitons were replaced, but no more bolts were added.
In general it is possible to climb year round, but spring and fall are the best seasons.
For rest days Val Rosandra also offers beautiful hikes and historic places such as the Roman aqueduct, the old mills or the church of Santa Maria in Siaris to visit. There are also three short via ferratas.
