Description

Wonderland is an isolated prow of rock on the north side of the Hidden Valley complex of crags. It lies directly above the mining area on the south side of Burnt River and is a quick approach from the suspension footbridge. This short, steep face has five sport routes. It faces north and northwest, getting late afternoon sun on part of the wall. Best saved for warm weather climbing.
All climbs are equipped with mussy hooks on the anchors. There are no locals in the Burnt-Durkee area to maintain fixed protection. So, to lengthen mussy lifespan, they should only be used by the last person in group to lower off. All other lowers and topropes should be with quickdraws.

Getting There

As for other crags in the Hidden Valley area, cross the footbridge. Wonderland Wall sits nearly directly in front of you on the grassy-shrubby slope above the mining area and below the pinnacle with an old antenna on its summit. Continue straight ahead on the mining road uphill toward the west entrance to Hidden Valley. As you begin to top out cut left (east) onto the grassy slope and work your way up to the crag. It takes about 10 minutes.
