Description Suggest change

The 300-foot SE face of Lost Tower or 'Lower Lost Tower' has excellent long pitches of featured slab climbing and is easily seen from the trailhead with its distinct ramp-like ledge in the foreground of the Rockfellows. The chickenhead and patina plated face gets shade around 12-1PM in the winter and is home to the classics "Riding the Rails" (5.10), "White Lines Direct" (5.9 R), as well as the Peter Croft line "White Line Fever" (5.12).

Getting There Suggest change

Best approached via the Upper Lost Canyon Trail branch off of the main trail. Well after the turnoff for Stronghold Dome, but before heading across the slabs towards Waterfall Dome, this trail branches off left just before the main trail crosses the sometimes wet mini gully (~.65 miles in) that comes in from the left. This trail is relatively easy to follow, well-cairned, and quite novel after reaching the base of Beginning, Maybe, & Likely Pinnacles where it gets slightly harder to follow, but is really cool navigating through giant boulders to get to the base.

30min-1hour, 1000+ feet up, beautiful hike.

It is possible to get to the SE Face from Bastion Towers by circumnavigating clockwise around the formation but this involves a bit of bushwhacking/downclimbing to get to the height of the ledge with "White Line Fever", or continue down the 4th class slab ramp, leading you to the start of "K-Town Girls" (5.10+)
