Description Suggest change

Massive varnished boulder with some of the best highballs in all of Red Rock

Bring a rope and harness, as all up climbs and down climbs on the boulder are serious endeavors and rappelling will be easier.

The best way to get on top of the boulder is by climbing Top Access V1 and carrying a rope with you, lead style.

There are two bolts in great condition on top of the boulder and with some rope maneuvering every part of every problem can be worked on a top rope. Also bring rope protection if you plan on taking falls while working the climbs. The rock has many edges.

Getting There Suggest change

To avoid as much bushwhacking as possible with pads, I advise taking the wash path to Baraka first, then taking an immediate right after the boulder to go 50 yards uphill. (This is about the midway point for the whole approach, 30 minutes)
From here (pictured) turn left and bushwhack through a faint climbers trail that rarely sees pads. After another 50 yards you will squeeze by a white boulder in the trail (pictured) and begin trending left.
At this point you will be in line with some very large boulders down in the wash (pictured).
Take the first steep hill you can find to go back down into the wash (further trails are actually more difficult to go down despite it looking nicer to go that way).
Once you are back in the wash, stay in it and head upstream for another 20 minutes until you can see the large Shining Path boulder up a hill to the right.
The easiest way to get to the boulder is to hike up a relatively steep slab and scramble past large rocks in a few small canyon-like formations created by erosion. This will lead you to the immediate base of Ariana and The Shining Path. The only other way to reach the boulder involves hiking all the way around and then climbing through small brush covered paths that are extremely difficult with a pad and would take an extra 15-20 minutes.
