Description Suggest change

The little sister of Ship Rock. There are three known routes on Agathla and all of them have a reputation for being chossy. There is an entertaining film by Ray Garner showing the FA of Agathla by Ray Garner, Herb Conn and Lee Pedrick via the West Face on May 29, 1949. https://youtu.be/0K-IwCjUf3w?si=978BfKu8sgZCwan9

Ray, Herb and Lee brought an assortment of gear including 50 pitons, 40 button heads, two sets of drills and hammers, 15 carabiners and 4 120 foot nylon ropes and of course, 12 quarts of water. The party had to spend the night on top before descending the next day.

Diné (Navajo people) legend to my understanding is that a serpent would emerge from Agathla Peak and an owl would come from nearby Owl Rock and kill the serpent.

Feel free to correct any misinformation here.
