Description
The routes face mostly south and south east. The tower hugs up against Cima d'Ambeiz so is difficult to see from Rifugio Agostini. The approach is about 20 minutes from the hut so is a popular formation with multiple parties on each route in good weather. Quality rock, and decent protection, and ease of route finding, are the norm here.
Routes on the South side (from left to right):
- Via Gasperini Medaia - Pisoni
- Via Armani - Gasperini Medaia (used for descent raps)
Routes on the East side (from left to right):
- Via Anna
- Via Lisa
- Diedro Armani
- Via Silvio Chini
Descent: Rap the south face in three raps following the route "Via Armani - Gasperini Medaia". The first is about 45m to a bolted anchor. The second rap DOES NOT continue from this anchor. If you continue down your ropes WILL get stuck. Instead, walk carefully over to the east about 6m to a separate anchor. From this anchor rap about 45m into a chimney and ledge with another anchor. Rap 3 can be done from here or scramble westward about 15m to a bolted rap anchor and a 30m rap to a ledge that can then be downclimbed about 10m to a safe zone. From here follow cairns to trail 321 that goes down to Rifugio Agostini.
Getting There
From Rifugio Agostini ascend towards the Vedretta d'Ambiez along path 358. After a steep section where the path levels out there is a scree slope that ascends to the start. There is a giant boulder level with this on your right. The Anna Route and the Armani Corner route start in this zone.
