Description
A delightful crag with abundant 1-2 pitch, well-protected friction slabs and excellent views of the south side of the middle fork.
Bring a brush if you like, as it's liable to get reclaimed by moss and other greenery.
Getting There
Park at the Middle Fork Trailhead Parking Lot by the suspension bridge (not visible from the road) most of the way up the middle fork of the Snoqualmie. Walk across the street to start hiking on the CCC. Pass a campground (on the right) and over wooden bridges until you're given the choice to either continue straight uphill or go left to remain on the CCC. Continue on the trail for a bit over 1 mile.
At a leftward bend in the trail, which includes a small wooden bridge, you'll be able to spot the East Quartz Camp area ~10 meters through the trees to your right.
Continuing down the CCC another minute brings you to a longer C-shaped bridge, 20 feet past which you'll find a cairn marking a faint pink-flagged trail to the left sides of Quartz Camp...
Note: There are three separate discontinuous areas here - East Quartz, which is the first climbers trail from the hiking trail, the right side of West Quartz near the gully that is reached via a short bushwhack, and the left side of West Quartz which is marked via flagging tape from the hiking trail and culminates in a large stump.
