Dazzler Wall

Montana > Southwest Region > Big Belt Mountains > Trout Creek Canyon

Description

A beautiful, semi-remote, wall of limestone with a handful of amazing, hard routes. Great summer conditions can be had in the morning or evening with the wall getting full shade in the morning before about 1PM and in the evening after about 4:30PM. The best method I found was to drive to the upper parking, climb in the evening until dark, camp at the trailhead, then climb more in the morning and head home. This also give you the option to hit up Beaver Creek on the way out.

Getting There

From the upper trailhead, hike downstream along the gentle trail for about a quarter mile (5 minutes) to the obvious crag about 50ft off of the trail on the east side of the canyon. The routes may be hard to spot at first due to a few large trees but the crag is very hard to miss.
From the lower trailhead, it's about a 3 mile hike.

[Hide Comment] There is one more route currently on this wall that I did not try or include in the database - Holly's Misadventure 5.11. It's about 50ft right of Dead Drift through a bit of a bushwack. Looked like the route could use a fresh cleaning. Aug 15, 2023
