Description
The crag is almost directly above the Birches picnic area. It faces north and, even in the middle of summer, goes in the shade by 2 PM. The rock is of really good quality. The routes are well protected.
I spent the time just after the lockdown up here, working these out, cleaning, and generally escaping the madness of the times. I hope that it provides the same shady retreat for those who visit
Getting There
Park at the Birches picnic area. It’s the next picnic area up canyon from Ledgemere.
Walk across the bridge. Head left and up through spot #3. Continue up the hill to where there is a little bench. Go east on the little bench for 50 feet or so, then head up the hill. Generally trend up and left on the trail until you get into the big gully with no underbrush. For you skiers, this is the bottom of the Generator Couloir. Continue up the gully until you run into a large downed tree perpendicular to the drainage. Go right or west, trending uphill to the base of the cliff. The trail is good all the way to the wall
