Description
A large and complex south-facing wall with 14 sport routes in three sectors:
Left Sector: Upper end of wall. Clean-featured, low-angle slab with four easy routes, including a two-pitch line. Separated from the middle sector by a slanting gully/alcove.
Middle Sector: A tall and interesting face-slab corner with four routes all starting on the slab apron and transitioning to steep face above. Separated from the right sector by a broken, low-angle face with a lot of small mountain mahogany bushes.
Right Sector: Lower end of wall with a big juniper at the bottom. Two long routes in the middle go to top of the crag. Four shorter lines occur on either side of these stellar center lines.
70 m rope needed for several of the (best) routes on this wall.
PLEASE: Some climbs are equipped with mussy hooks on the anchors. There are no locals in the Burnt-Durkee area to maintain fixed protection. So, to lengthen mussy lifespan, they should only be used by the last person in group to lower off. All other lowers and topropes should be with quickdraws.
