Description
Long cliff band visible from NV 157. The walls are around 50 feet tall and comprised of mostly sharp, crozzly limestone. There are a couple of massive boulders just below the cliff.
The routes are generally short, punchy, and mostly forgettable. However, there are a couple of well-set routes tackling the impressive blank section on the right side of the cliff that are certainly worth the journey if you enjoy hard pocket-pulling.
The cliff is relatively sheltered from the wind. The walls generally face northwest and are shaded until early/mid afternoon depending on the time of year. The right side of the wall goes into the sun first. Best to get there early on warm days.
This area is mostly well-covered by the Mojave Limestone book, but there were at least a couple routes missing from the book description.
Getting There
See parent-area for instructions on accessing the main wash. Park in (or hike to) the main wash at a spot directly north of the cliff band where the wash breaks off into a smaller washes heading south. See the approach trail map for this location. Hike through the south wash until you are directly below the cliff. There is a faint trail (better, but hard to find) heading up the hillside to the left side of the cliff, or you can simply stay in the wash until you are below the large boulders on the right side of the cliff and then hike up the loose hillside to the right side of the cliff.
0.6 mi, 400ft elevation gain. 25-30 minutes on the way there and 20 minutes back. Add an extra 20-30 minutes to hike the additional mile from the highway if you are not able to access the main wash.
