Joyland Boulder

Colorado > Four Corners Area > Hillside Drive… > Joyland Boulders

Description

Joyland Boulder is a prominent, stand-alone boulder with generally moderate climbing and many excellent warm-up problems on all four sides. Excellent rock and a beautiful variety of angles and holds (pockets, crimps, slopers, slots, and rails) make up a few classic lines and numerous variations / link-ups. This is a fun and memorable boulder in an amazing setting to start or end your day!

Getting There

The Joyland Boulder is at the Western end (and slightly downhill) as you follow the marked trail past the 'Candy Walls' and 'Slightly Floating' Boulder cluster.

The Downclimb

Depending on your comfort level at heights, the most favorable downclimb for most problems will be walking across the low-angled top of the boulder on a series of positive seams towards a prominent dihedral with blocky, incut holds (ending on a pair of incut flakes) on the West Face.
